Emergency First Response Course |

For those who are interested in learning Emergency First Aid skills the Emergency First Response course is the answer to your question.
Aegean dive Center organises numerous EFR courses and we can tailor them to accommodate your needs.
This week the EFR course is offered during the week on Thursday and will be for the whole day.

Bring your scuba gear(optional)and your best smile to welcome the new year underwater by drinking champagne and cutting the traditional pita in and out of the water.Who ever gets the lucky piece of pita with the coin gets a nice gift from us.Meeting point is the dive center at 9:00 a.m or in Varkiza(beside camping)at 10:00 a.m.See ya!

Nope....it s not the number of the local firebrigade, the date of the last crusade or the pin code for my ATM card....
It s actually the total amount of Euros collected on the Baffin fundraiser from last friday. It is really a fantastic amount and will add a big step North on our mission. Thnx from Reiner, Greg and Geoff.
Big thnx to all who participated, helped, cooked, sold or did anything to make it a success. Obviously I m avoiding to write names in the horrible case that i would forget someone.
More news to follow as fundraisers are on the way in Australia and Germany as well. The Panathinaikos shirt will go on E-bay and will hopefully add a little bit more.

You don t have to be one to continue your diving activities...!
We divers are known for not being `made of sugar` So the last months of the year shouldn`t stop you from going `under` in the temperate waters of the Mediterranean. Don t forget there is still a lot and different underwater life to be seen.
Water temperatures are still around 20 celsius and if you really think thats too chilly for you.... there is always the possibility to upgrade your neo-prene outfit with an extra layer. Check out the Camaro ICEVEST. You can ask all (very happy) ADC instructors for an explanation and product review.
Ok ok ok......so you still do not want to get in....? There are several dry courses as well. Activities that keep you high and dry are i.e.: EQUIPMENT SPECIALTY. NITROX (dives are not mandatory...!) and how about the Emergency First Response (E.F.R.) course.
E.F.R. deals not only with diving related circumstances but makes you a valuable asset with life saving skills at home or at your work site in case of incident or accident.
For parents we also run an E.F.R. course that specifically puts the accent on babies and children.

A little bit earlier than the new parents expected but on thursday Gogo gave birth to a happy and healthy baby-girl. Weighing in at 4.5 pounds and already a healthy dot of hair.

BAFFIN ISLAND RESEARCH 2010 |
|
|
Together with the research and development dept. of Curtin University Perth AUS., Bert is going to higher parts of Canada to voluntary participate in a comparison research project for 19 arctic day and nights.
The work will consist of taking earth, ice and snow samples and doing atmospheric measurements. This data will be compared and possibly challenged to data reveiled by BP, EXXON and Dutch SHELL (which are obviously planning to find and drill for fossile fuels in the area in the near future.)
The university is giving a grant for this project that only covers a few basics and is developing and sending equipment needed for the research
